William Westcombe Corpe (1863 -1923) was a pioneer of the Manawatu dairy industry. He arrived in the Feilding region in the early 1880's and had constructed a butter and cheese factory at Makino by the late 1880's. He sold the factory in 1903, to Joseph Nathan & Co. Ltd. of Wellington.
