Caption on photograph reads: Picture taken at the first course acquired by the Feilding Golf Club, the land being in Awahuri Road, opposite Kitchener Park and now farmed by Mr Tom York. Left to right: Messers L. Gorton, D. Pryde, S. Parkes, J. Power, B. Banks and W.H. McLean. The woolshed in the background was used as a clubhouse by the pioneers.

This photo was published in the Feilding Herald in 1968 (although it was taken much earlier), as part of an article reporting on the opening of the new clubhouse.
