Read MoreEither the first or second swimming carnival to be held in Feilding - while the caption reads "Feilding's first swimming sports", this event was reported in the Feilding Star on February 11, 1909, where it was stated that this event was the second of its kind.
The event was held on Charles Carr's farm on Ranfurly Road, February 10, 1909. About 300 people attended on the day, according to the article in the Feilding Star.

According to the Feilding Golf Club website, members of the club built the clubhouse themselves. At the time, membership was held by about 40 men and 20 ladies.
