Her Majesty looks upon exact replicas of the Crown Jewels by de Rohan. Royal purple and gold with a touch of red is the colour scheme of this attractive display.
Spring is gayly portrayed in this display of colourful jersey silk fabrics. Framed with silver metallic papers is a red brick wall. Grass mats are on the floor with a strip of brick paper along the front. White bag and gloves a colourful scarf and card and two big paper flowers finish off this delightfully refreshing window.
Teal and black millinery is shown in this display. The floral drape is in autumn tones and black accessories are also used. Brown green and gold straw and leaves add the seasonal effect for Autumn 1949
Like the coat of arms the twenty one Coronation Procession figures featured on the balcony were all drawn, cut out, painted and assembled by the display staff. The"Horsemen stood 3ft high while the coach was almost 6ft high. Cut from hardboard they were all beautifully finished in brilliant enamels"
