Staff at Makino Butter Factory

The Makino Butter Factory was established in 1883, under the ownership of William Wescombe Corpe. This photo shows staff outside the factory, believed to have been taken in 1900. In 1903, the factory was sold to Joseph Nathan & Co.

Description Situated at 10 Council Place, Feilding The Makino Aquatic Centre is an important and popular community facility, providing access to pool and recreation space for the Manawatu Community for over 40 years The Makino Aquatic Centre has grown significantly since its opening as an outdoor pool complex in 1972. With the huge support of the community, in 1992 the indoor pool complex was added to the Makino complex, providing the ability to swim all year round. In 2010, the Makino redevelopment was prioritised as a project for Council. 2015 saw the commencement of the upgrade The Makino Aquatic Centre was opened to the public -29 July 2016
