The Central Firewood Depot, originally located on Denbigh Street. In the photo is George Solomon Smith and Suzan (sic) Smith (the small child sitting on the wood pile). Photographed by J. F. Macedo.

The presence of the caged parrot is not explained.

Engine owned by Mark Beazer who farmed on Lees Line (now Lees Rd.). Persons on engine. L to R: Mark Beazer, Charles Beazer (fourth son of Mark). Boys on wheat sacks: Sons of George Short, watchmaker and jeweller.
