This photo shows Pearson's Carriers, which was a transport garage owned by Hector Pearson. It was situated on Kimbolton Road, between Warwick Street and Manchester Street.

Next door we can see Adam's & Edelsten Coach and Motor Builders, which later became Feilding Transport.

Hodder and Tolley electric truck. The name 'Walker' along the lower front of the truck identifies it as a Walker Electric Truck. These vehicles carried a bank of batteries under the tray which gave them a range of forty miles and could be recharged overnight. See also TRA:tk12 for a similar vehicle. The truck is parked on the weigh bridge in Stafford Street outside the Borough Council building. It cost 2/6 to weigh a truck.
