John Cobbe and Co. Drapers, c. 1953

John Cobbe and Co. Drapers, located on the corner of Manchester Street and Manchester Square. The shop was decorated for the coronation of Queen Elizabeth the II.

This building was demolished after 2008, due to fire damage from two separate instances. The first fire broke out in November 2007, and the second fire occurred in October 2008.

W. H. Clayton Motor Car Trimmer

The premises of W. H. Clayton - Motor Car Trimmer. This building, located on the corner of Beattie Street and Kimbolton Road, was originally built as the immigration barracks for settlers coming to live on the Manchester Block. It was also where the first Feilding Presbyterian services were held, in 1874.

The building has since been demolished. Beauchamp Signs & Memorials, Totally Fresh, and Harley Davidson Feilding currently occupy the corner site.

First Mechanical Concrete Mixer in Feilding, c. 1915

A builder who is believed to be either O. (Oliver?) Sporle or Alf Sporle* operates the first mechanical concrete mixer used in Feilding, in 1915.

The Chamberlain Brothers Flour Mill, date unknown. Situated on Kimbolton Road in the area now known as Tui Mill Grove

Chamberlain Brothers Flour Mill. Became Hodder and Tolley, 1920. Situated just off Kimbolton Road, where Tui Mill Grove is now.

F. G. Woollams Chemist & Druggist

F. G. Woollams was established in 1891.

Shop assistant for the Bookseller, Stationer, Fancy Goods, & Musical Instrument Dealer, on Manchester Street. The business was established by William Carthew in 1879, and the premises was comprised of 2000 square feet of floor space.

Visique Feilding Optometry

Optometrist situated in Manchester Square, Feilding. The top floor of this building was used as a boarding house, in the 1930s and 1940s.

This photo shows Bishop's Blacksmith's in 1901. The men in the photo are unknown, but could be employees of the shop. The business was established on Kimbolton Road in 1874.

Trewin's Boot & Shoe Manufacturer

James A. Trewin's boot and shoe shop, located on Kimbolton Road next to the Manchester Hotel.

The caption under the photo advises that the building cost five hundred pounds, including the staircase. The building has since been demolished, and Mitre 10 now occupies the land.

Waireka Honey is situated on the main highway between Himatangi and Sanson. They stock a range of native New Zealand honey, beekeeping equipment, and honey products.

Barry's Cycle Works was situated in the Sandilands building on Kimbolton Road between Manchester Sqare and Stafford Street. This photograph shows a group of unknown men outside the shop. The building was demolished in 2008.
