Primitive Methodist Church

The Primitive Methodist Church, whose cause was established in 1875, built their church on a site in Manchester Street, near the banks of the Makino Stream in 1876. The Primitive Methodists were responsible for the erection of the first permanent Methodist parsonage in Feilding, this being built in Church Street in 1891. The present parsonage, built by the Wesleyans, was constructed in West Street in 1900.

St. Paul's Presbyterian Church

St. Paul's Presbyterian Church is located on the corner of Grey and Church Street in Feilding. Services are still held there.

St. Mark's Methodist Church, c. 1908

Salvation Army Citadel, c. 1942

The Salvation Army Citadel, after the 1942 earthquake damage. This building was completed in 1921, and after the earthquake was demolished. A new Citadel opened in 1980 on the site of the old one.

Pamphlet for the Opening of the New St. Paul's Church, c. 1968

These images show a pamphlet inviting the residents of Feilding and surrounding districts to the opening of the new St Paul's Presbyterian Church, located at 37 Grey Street. The new building was completed less than nine months after the foundation stone was laid, and still stands today.

The second photograph shows the old church that was destroyed by suspected arson two years prior.

St. Thomas Anglican Church

Rangitikei Parish which includes St Thomas' is a large rural parish situated south of Mt Ruapehu and west of the Rangitikei River. St. Thomas was built in 1877 at a cost of 590 pounds. Consecrated by Bishop Hadfield, the architect was Charles Tringham. Mid-Victorian Gothic with tower, apse and sanctuary and built with totara pegs and dowels, rather than nails.

Baptist Church

The Fire station stood on the corner of Stafford and Bowen Streets and was demolished between February and July 1979 by the Feilding Rotary Club. The Baptist church was sold and trucked from the site in the early 1990s and a new building erected in its place.
