The first railway station in Feilding was built in 1887, and was extended and improved between 1897 and 1901. It remained, with only a few modifications, until it was partly destroyed by fire in 1960. Construction of the present station began a year later, and the buildings were officially opened in December 1961.

As the buildings in this photo are clearly made out of wood, it can be assumed that this is the original station, which puts the date of this photograph before 1960.
